Great news that Reach Scotland has come forward as our major sponsor for the 2018 Glen Affric Duathlon.  The company has made a substantial financial investment in the event which will allow us to improve facilities for competitors and spectators alike.

Entries now open for 2017!

You can now enter the next Glen Affric Duathlon that takes place on Saturday 6th May 2017.  We have set-up an online entry system courtesy of Entry Central.  For each sign-up, we will pay the Service Fee so entrants pay no surcharge for entering online.

Of course you can still download an entry form and post it to us if you prefer but we do realise that cheque books are no longer as common as they once were.  Please see our Enter Race Page for full details on how to enter.

The course for 2017 remains the same as previous years so no hidden surprises.  We have opened up the Relay event to teams of 2 or 3 this time.  Three members will do one stage each where in a two member team one will be the runner (2 stages) and the other the cyclist.  There is a flat £50 entry fee for the Relay teams with no discount.

Thank You All!

The 8th Glen Affric Duathlon over for another year. Provisional date for next year 6th May. Jim and I are not very good at coming out of our shells to advertise it, but if you have an inclination that you are pretty fit, then try this to see how fit you REALLY are!

So well done to all competitors. If you had thought you had never really fully earned a plastic medal and a banana before, then you definitely did on Saturday. This is a community event I started years ago, no money in it for anyone as it is so remote and costly, so all completely voluntary. I absolutely have to thank the following:-
Run-4-it Inverness for prize money vouchers – a great place for all running gear
William Grey Builders for sponsorship
Highland Renewables for sponsorship
Fionnar Springs for mineral water

And absolutely the marshals and helpers who gave up a lot of time to make it happen and are what make a community like ours tick. They all knew exactly what they had to do on the day, where to be and when, and just DID it:-

My main man and co-organiser Jim McAuley
Liz McAuley – Jims wife and also co-organiser
Sue Calcutt
Harry Martin
Kay Graham
Calum Graham
Donald Fraser Snr

Quite a list. Thankyou!
