Not long to the off! Some last minute info..
At the moment the forecast for Saturday is looking reasonably good but besides packing the sun block also think about warmer clothing should the weather be on the cold side – it can change quite suddenly and it has been on the cool side as of late.
The road into Glen Affric is single track with passing places. Please take your time and keep an eye out for the odd pothole or stray sheep. Traffic should be light in the opposite direction. Please obey the marshalls as you approach the transition area. This will be the biggest event yet and space is at a premium.
Just some reminders. The first run incorporates a stream crossing. We’ve never had any problems before and Kintail Mountain Rescue are on hand to get everyone across safely.
The bike route is partly on public road – remember the potholes! – but mainly forest track. This was ‘swept’ last week and will be checked again on the eve of the event. This will still leave areas where small stones, gravel and the odd small branch or two are encountered so take care especially on bends where you should avoid braking too sharply. Marshalls and signage will advise accordingly.

Please remember to bring your TS ID if you have claimed discounted entry fee. This must clearly state ‘THIS IS A RACE LICENCE’ – if you don’t have a plastic card then TS inform me that you can download a pdf file or display it on your mobile phone.
We will have a couple of collection points for the charities MIND and Mikeys Line in memory of Lawrence Jones who marshalled at all the previous events. Any contribution will be deeply appreciated.
Think that’s about it. Anything else will be put on FB. Best wishes to everyone and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
